Life Story / Obituary
Joseph Quiroz, age 61, passed away on Monday January 20, 2025 at Villa at Lincoln Park. Joseph was born in Racine on September 8, 1963, son of the late Alejos and Patricia (nee: Luna) Quiroz.
Joseph graduated from JI Case High School “Class of 1982” where he played running back and linebacker on the football team and wrestled, earning a fifth-place finish in the state. Following graduation, he moved down to Austin, TX to start a new adventure. Always with the entrepreneurial spirit, Joe had a restaurant/catering business/ deli called “Rovers on the Run”. He also had a T-shirt business and was last employed as a caregiver. He enjoyed fishing, bowling and spending time with his children. With Joe’s health declining, his brother Tom brought him back to Wisconsin in the fall of 2024 to be near his siblings. Joe will be remembered for his sense of humor, his creative side and his great love for his family.
Joe will be dearly missed by his children, Joseph (Danielle) Quiroz Jr., Jackson Quiroz (David Berardi), Jessica Quiroz; grandchildren, Zealand, Indie Jane, and Journey; siblings, Raymond (Nancy) Quiroz, Mary Ann Escobedo, Rita Quiroz (Ronald Breckler), Thomas (Kelly) Quiroz, Grace (Reynaldo) Belmares, Michael (Rhonda) Quiroz, Ermalinda (Dean) Schroeder; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Joseph was also preceded in death by his brother, Alex, and his nephews, Jose Francisco Marquez Jr. and Malachi Belmares.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Richard Catholic Church, 1503 Grand Avenue, on Wednesday, January 29, 2025, 12:00 p.m. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery.
