Josie “Jo” Porcaro, age 94, passed away peacefully at home surrounded by the love of her family. She was born in Racine, May 4, 1930, the sixth of seven children of Joseph and Mary (Nee:Bruno) Ingrasci.

Josie graduated from Wm Horlick High School. On May 29, 1954, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, she was united in marriage to the love of her life Earl A. Porcaro and they were blessed with three children, Barbara, Tom, and Randy. They enjoyed raising their family on Wisconsin Avenue where they lived in the same house for 48 years and to this day have remained lifelong friends with their neighbors. She continued to make new friends in her condo complex where she lived for the past 13 years. She was a natural at socializing. Earl and Josie celebrated 56 years together when Earl passed on July 16, 2010. Josie was a member of St. Richard’s Catholic Church and a member of Vittoria Colonna for over 30 years. She enjoyed playing cards with her Pinochle group and Samba group, bingo, knitting, crocheting, making Christmas stockings, traveling to Arizona, and loved trips to the casino. Above all she treasured time spent with her family especially her granddaughters and great granddaughters. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who will be dearly missed.

She is survived by her children, Barbara (John) Suprak, Tom Porcaro, and Randy Porcaro; granddaughters, Gina (TJ) Huisman, Nicole (Ryan) Williams; precious great granddaughters, Aubriella and Kacie; many nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her special daughter-in-law Karen Porcaro; siblings, Charles Ingrasci, Mary (Paul) Tewagian, Joseph (Esther) Ingrasci, Paul (Laura) Ingrasci, Tom (Marie) Ingrasci, Rosalie (Donald) Malone; Porcaro in-laws, and her longtime friend, Helen Pulice.

Relatives and friends may meet at the funeral home Sunday, September 15, 2024, from 3 to 5 pm. A service will be held at 5 pm followed by a celebration of her life with food and beverages at Preservation Hall (across from the funeral home). Memorials to Porcaro Family Charities have been suggested (a nonprofit 501c3 organization formed by the Porcaro cousins to help families with unforeseen medical expenses).

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Nurse Jen from Aurora Hospice for her loving and compassionate care.
