Following graduation she joined the U. S. Marine Corps and proudly served her country from 1966 - 1967. It was at this time that she met fellow marine Joseph Golden and on May 10, 1969, at St. John Nepomuk Catholic Church they were united in marriage. This union was blessed with 2 children Joseph and Jen.

Kathy was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She enjoyed shopping, decorating, cooking and baking wonderful meals for her family especially at the holidays. She will be remembered as quiet, one of few words but was very direct. Her love language was gifting to others. Above all she treasured the time spent with her family especially the grandchildren.
