Life Story / Obituary
Kathleen "Kate" Anne Prindl passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, November 9, 2024, at the age of 73 after a short but courageous battle with cancer.
She was born at Great Lakes Naval Base outside of Chicago to the late Vaunette and Kenneth O'Leary. She is survived by her loving husband Frank Prindl, her children; Travis (Jennifer) Prindl, Melanie (Brent) Adamson, Amanda (David) Lopez-Cepero, John (Michelle) Prindl, her grandchildren; Alyssa Prindl Shager, Dominic Guehlstorf, Hailey Prindl, Vincent Guehlstorf and John Prindl Jr. She is also survived by her siblings Colleen Klink, Jennifer O'Leary and Kelly O'Leary. She was proceeded in death by her brothers Pat and Dennis O'Leary of West Allis, WI.
Kate attended West Allis Central High School prior to meeting the love of her life, Frank Prindl. They married May 31,1975 and together raised four children. They spent much of those early years at the Clover Leaf Lakes near Shawano for boating, snowmobiling and fishing with their family. Kate and her husband traveled the world together and built so many memories.
She spent her time ensuring our house was a home. Because of her, our holidays were always filled with happiness and laughter. Because of her, we have the tradition of "burning the rolls" at every holiday which we will continue in her honor. Because of her, we were able to participate in so many sports and after school activities with her being our most proud and biggest cheerleader. Because of her, there was always someone who would answer the phone or show up on our doorstep to make sure we knew we were never alone with all the good and bad that comes with living our lives. Because of her, we were able to witness what true love and commitment looks like by demonstrating that with our father, Frank. Listening to live bands and seeing them tear up the dance floor with the best of them will always be a cherished memory for us all.
She had such a gift for sewing and would sew the most beautiful prom and homecoming dresses. She made her children and grandchildren the best homemade Halloween costumes. There was and never will be a better elf, dinosaur or ladybug and we have the pictures to prove it. She loved to paint in her spare time and her artwork is displayed throughout our homes. She was a dog lover and because of her, we have personalized portraits of our dogs that became a family tradition.
She was absolutely loved by all of us. She will always be a part of all of us. We'll continue to see her in each of us-in a smile, laugh, a look or a sarcastic joke.
The family would like to extend a very special Thank You to the staff at Ascencion All Saints 3D who cared for her and us like family. There was never a request that was too much, and they went above and beyond in every aspect. She passed in the most peaceful and comfortable way thanks to the wonderful people there.
A showing for family and friends will be held on Saturday, November 16, 2024, from 3:00 until 4:30 pm with a Remembrance at 4:30 pm at the funeral home.
