With her family by her side, Kathleen “Kathy” R. Klass, age 73, passed away peacefully at her home on Monday, November 4, 2024. Born in Racine on June 1, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Robert and Lucille (Andress) Mudge.

Kathy graduated from William Horlick High School in 1969. She married Gary Klass on November 29, 1969, and they shared a beautiful partnership spanning 54 years. Kathy worked for many years as a supervisor in Environmental Services at All Saints Medical Center. She will be fondly remembered for her passion for shopping, her pride in maintaining an immaculate home, and her love of bringing each holiday to life with festive decorations, especially at Christmas.

Above all, Kathy’s heart belonged to her family, and her grandchildren and great-grandchildren were her pride and joy. She cherished every moment with them, and nothing brought her more happiness than watching them grow and sharing in their lives.

She was deeply loved and will be missed by her devoted husband, Gary; her sons, Gary Jr. (Valerie) Klass and Michael Klass, ex-wife Lisa Loomis; her beloved eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, and a new great-granddaughter on the way; her siblings, Robert (Leslie) Mudge, Maxine (Craig) Baumann, Julie (Brian) Baumann, Cindy (Wade) Hawkins, Danny Mudge, Valerie Branson, Audrey (Paul) Whitt, Melanie (Tim) Powell; and her sister-in-law, Gay Probst. Kathy is also fondly remembered by her nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends. She was preceded in death by her son, Johnny Klass, and her parents.

A funeral service celebrating Kathy’s life will be held at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home on Thursday, November 14, 2024, at 11:30 am, with interment to follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Family and friends are invited to gather for a visitation on Thursday from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.

The family extends a heartfelt thank you to the entire Whitt family, Tammy and Debbie Stindle and the staff at Compassus Hospice for their thoughtful care and support.
