Kathryn Ann Browne, age 101, passed away on Thursday, September 18, 2025, at the Lutheran Home – Elaine’s Hope in Wauwatosa, WI. She was born in Arlington, MN, on October 24, 1923, daughter of the late George and Laura (Nee: Peterson) Naidl. Her family moved to Racine, WI, when Kathryn was four years old.

Kathryn graduated from William Horlick High School, “Class of 1940” in Racine. On September 10. 1943, she was united in marriage to Glen Albert Browne, who preceded her in death on December 1, 2007. She was a long-time member of Emmanuel Lutheran Church in Racine.

Kathryn was a wonderful homemaker and caregiver for her family, while living in the house Glen built for them. Kathryn enjoyed reading, making puzzles, playing word games, attending theatre and concert performances, visiting museums, watching travelogues, shopping, camping, and traveling with her family. She was an avid sports fan, following and cheering for all Wisconsin sports teams. Kathryn provided compassionate care to family members, including her aunt, parents and husband. In addition, she provided early childcare for her grandchildren. Kathryn will be remembered as a loving, nurturing, gracious, refined, wise and grateful woman. She demonstrated kindness, generosity and faith, always putting others before herself.

Survivors include her daughters, Carol Browne-LaRock and husband, Terry LaRock of Racine, Laura Browne and husband, Scott Manske of Wauwatosa; grandchildren, Glen LaRock (Amanda Marcado), Kyle Manske and Claire Manske; great grandchildren, Lyric and Shane LaRock; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her brother, Charles (Violet) Naidl.

A memorial service will be held at Martin Luther Lutheran Church, 9235 W Bluemound Rd., Milwaukee on Saturday October 25, 2025, 11 am with Rev. Lynn Erickson officiating. Relatives and friends may meet prior to the service from 10 - 11 am. Private interment will be held at West Lawn Memorial Park in Racine. Memorials to Martin Luther Lutheran Church in Milwaukee or Journey in Faith Lutheran Church in Racine have been suggested.
