Laurette M. McDonald, Age 83, passed away at home, peacefully with her family by her side, Saturday, January 27, 2024. She was born in Racine, April 11, 1940, daughter of the late Carl and Evelyn (Nee: Rouser) Mailand.

On August 30, 1958, Laurette was united in marriage to Robert George McDonald who preceded her in death on December 25, 2007. Along with her husband, Laurette ran a successful boat storage business. She enjoyed working on the farm, cooking, doing dishes, peeling a lot of potatoes, at least ten pounds per night seemed like hard work, but was a true joy.

She was loved dearly and will be truly missed by her children, Robert G. McDonald Jr, Michael (Susan) McDonald, Julie Karwowski, Sharon (Christopher) Kolp, Matthew (Penny) McDonald, Patrick (Elizabeth) McDonald; 14 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; brother, Dennis Mailand; sisters, Charlotte Means and Barbara Keeper; nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many dear friends. In addition to her parent’s and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Carl McDonald, son-in-law, Michael Karwowski, sister, Diana Hinsman and brother-in-law, George Means.

Funeral Services celebrating Laurette’s life will be held at the funeral home, 11:30 am, Thursday, February 1, 2024. Interment will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation, Thursday, 10:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.

Her parting words, “I have had a good life!”
