Lorraine Alice Kennedy

Lorraine A. Kennedy (nee VanderLeest) of Racine passed away at home on October 21, 2025, at the age of 87. Born on December 2, 1937 in Racine, WI daughter of the late Richard and Veronica (nee Olk) VanderLeest.

She was united in marriage to Gerald L. Kennedy Sr. on September 3, 1960, who preceded her in death on February 6, 2017. She was a homemaker, wife and mother of five children and two stepchildren.

Lorraine is survived by her children Dixie Richardson, Debbie Kremis, Gerald Kennedy Jr. (Jeanette), Richard Kennedy (Kelly), John Kennedy (Marie) and stepsons Gary Kennedy (Juley) and Al Kennedy (Michelle); 21 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren and 5 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by sisters Joyce Lundgren, Grace Schiebenes and brothers Richard VanderLeest (Barb) and Bernard VanderLeest.

In addition to her her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers Raymond VanderLeest, Eugene VanderLeest and sisters Clara Ray and Sylvia VanderLeest.

Funeral services celebrating Lorraine’s life will be held at the funeral home, 11:00 am, Thursday, October 30, 2025, with Rev. Scott Carson officiating. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation on Thursday, at 10:00 until time of service at the funeral home.
