Lynne Rose “Bassinger” Spranger, age 80, of Racine, passed away peacefully on September 29, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family.

Born in Racine on June 25, 1945, Lynne was the cherished daughter of the late Ralph and Elizabeth (Nee: Helvick) Bassinger. She graduated from Washington Park High School “Class of 1963” and dedicated over 30 years working at Ametek, where she met many of her life-long friends.

On November 14, 1964, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Gerald “Jerry” Spranger, together for 49 years, until his death on April 20, 2013. Together, they built a home filled with laughter, family, and unwavering devotion.

Lynne’s life was rooted in her faith and family. A lifelong Catholic, she was a devoted member of St. Richard’s Parish. She enjoyed cooking and further pursued her passion by attending culinary school at Gateway Technical College. Whether preparing meals or gathering the family together, Lynne’s kitchen was always filled with warmth and love. She often said that her grandchildren were “pretty much my whole life,” and she cherished every moment spent with them.

Lynne will be deeply missed by her daughters, Tracey Mayer and Jodi Spranger; her sister-in-law, Kathy Bassinger; grandchildren Christopher, Hayley, Jordon, Alyssa, and LaShan Jr., and great-grandchildren Kartier, Kyrie, and Kalani. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, extended relatives, and friends who were blessed to know her. In addition to her parent’s, she was preceded in death by her younger brother, Robert Bassinger.

A Memorial Service celebrating Lynne’s life will be held Wednesday, October 15, 2025, at the funeral home. Family and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation at 10:00 am. The service will be held at 11:00 am. Interment will follow at West Lawn Memorial Park.

The family wishes to thank all who supported Lynne with love, prayers, and kindness throughout her life.
