Life Story / Obituary
Marjorie (Margie) Tyle, age 93, formerly of Racine, passed away on Monday July 20, 2026, at her daughter and son-in-law’s home in Verona, WI where she resided for the past year. She was born at home in Racine, WI on March 31, 1933, daughter of the late Harold and Anna (Nee: Gizinski) Hansen.
Margie graduated from William Horlick High School “Class of 1951”. She was employed by Constant Hosiery, Polanski’s Market, and then worked at Modine Manufacturing in the Accounting department for 5 years. Margie spent 5 years living in San Francisco, California where her daughter Pam was born. While there, she worked at California Physician Services as a key punch operator. After returning to Racine, she spent the rest of her career at J. I. Case Company. She continued her work as a key punch operator and later worked as head distribution clerk in the computer center. She retired in 1995 after 28 years.
After retiring, Margie became a consummate volunteer, logging more than 11,000 hours over 22 years at All Saints Hospital. The Kiwanis Club named her their “Senior Volunteer of the Year” in 2012. She was also a member of Serra Club (past president), Catholic Woman’s Club (financial secretary and membership chair), St. John Nepomuk Parish (Eucharistic Minister for 20 years, Parish Council) and volunteered in the office at Maresh-Meredith Funeral Home for many years.
Margie enjoyed bowling, playing board and card games (especially Skip-Bo), anything made with dark chocolate, bird watching and walking her beloved dogs (Bouncer, KoKo, Brandy and Layla) over the years. She also cherished her yearly vacation week on Kangaroo Lake in Door County. Prior to moving to Verona, Margie lived at Parkview Gardens Assisted Living in Racine for 5 years, where she made several good friends.
Margie is survived by her daughter Pamela (Craig) Heilman and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was followed in death, just 4 days later, by her sister Jeanne Wishau. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters Marian (Richard) Beyer, Patricia (Clayton) Meier, Phyllis (Leslie) Wishau, Carol Coates and her brothers Harold Hansen, Charles “Jerry” (Gerry) Hansen and Donald (Mary) Hansen and brother-in-law Gerald Wishau.
Margie was a strong, independent woman who will be fondly remembered and dearly missed.
