Mark A. Schowalter, age 52, passed away unexpectedly, Wednesday, October 31, 2012 at his residence. Mark was born in Racine, November 12, 1959, son of Donald E. and Patricia A. (Nee: Meyers) Schowalter.

Mark was a graduate of William Horlick High School “Class of 1977” and furthered his education at UW-Whitewater. On April 8, 1997 in Runaway Bay, Jamaica he was united in marriage to Julie L. Romprey. Mark was last employed as an Equipment Operator at We Energies and previously by P.D.I. for many years. He was also the owner of Strip Club Choppers of Wisconsin. Mark was a member of the Local Union 420 International Brotherhood of Operating Engineers, German Club, and the Moose Lodge. An avid fisherman, hunter, golfer, Mark also enjoyed football in his earlier years. Mark had a zest for life camping with his friends, and traveling, especially to his favorite spot, Jamaica. He found tremendous relaxation with a quality cigar. More than anything he devoted, loved and cherished time with his family. He will be deeply missed.

Survivors include his loving wife of fifteen years, Julie; his children, Justin David Schowalter, Hailey Allison Schowalter; his mother, Patricia Schowalter; sister, Susan (Robert) Sigrist; brother, Robert (Evonne) Schowalter; special friends, Dave (Connie) Grebetz; mother-in-law and father-in-law; brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Donald E. Schowalter and his Uncle Daniel Schowalter.

A Memorial Service celebrating Mark’s life will be held Sunday, November 4, 2012, 3:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Sunday at the funeral home from 12:30 P.M. until time of service at 3:00 P.M. Memorials to the family for an education fund to be established in his children’s name have been suggested.
