Ossie R. Hilliard

With family by her side, Ossie R Hilliard, age 76 passed away at Ascension All Saints Medical Center, July 5, 2025. Ossie was born on October 16, 1948, daughter of late Curtis and Lellar (Nee: Carothers) Martin.

Ossie attended Weems school in Taylor Mississippi. On October 16, 1983, Ossie was united in marriage to Jessie Hilliard. Ossie loved cleaning, which led her to be a housekeeper and a stay-at-home mom. She loved taking care of all her grandkids, nieces, and nephews, Ossie was all about family. Rummage sales and shopping were a big hobby for her, and she also loved to cook.

Surviving her husband Jessie Hilliard, One and only child Sarah Martin, grandkids Marquise Martin, Laquise & Curtis Key, great grandkids Taraji, Alicia, Kayla, Regina, Justice, Dreame, Curtis Jr the second, Ka’Lani, A’Lani, and Saige.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories to her sister’s Frances Ramsey, and Lelia Carrothers, brother’s Curtis & Hubert Martin (Terry Norris) plus a host of nieces and nephews as well as a citywide host of family & friends – too numerous to mention all by name.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Shirley Martin, Reatha Ramsey, Carvin, Edward and Joel Martin

Funeral Services celebrating Ossie’s life will be held at the funeral home, 11:00 am, Saturday, July 19, 2025. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation Saturday at 10:00 am until the time of service.
