Raymond Cervera Rodriguez, age 96, with his family at his side passed away peacefully Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at his home. He was born in San Marcos, TX, January 23, 1928, the 15th of 16 children of the late Victoriano and Luisa (nee: Cervera) Rodriguez. Ray proudly served in the U.S. Navy from September 1945 to July 1946. On February 3, 1950, he was united in marriage to Mary Lou Vivian and they were blessed with 7 children, Ray, Catherine, Sonia, Vic, Ted, Phil and Christopher. Mary passed away May 11, 1994. On March 19, 1997, Ray was united in marriage to Monica Morones. Ray was an industrial electrician and had been employed by Lakeside Malleable for 20 years and then at Continental Can for 26 years retiring in 1993. Ray was baptized as one of Jehovah's Witnesses in 2000 and was active in the ministry. He was a diehard Cubs fan and also rooted for the Packers and Brewers. In his youth Ray played baseball in both the City league and Spanish league. He was a handyman who could fix just about anything especially cars and TVs. Ray loved being out in nature and enjoyed gardening, taking care of his fruit trees especially his apple trees. He will be remembered for his loving kindness and patience. Above all Ray treasured time spent with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather and great great grand father who will be dearly missed. Surviving are his wife, Monica; children, Catherine Rodriguez, Vic (Sue) Rodriguez, Phil Rodriguez, Christopher (Vicki) Rodriguez, Rebecca Rodriguez; daughter-in-law, Kris Rodriguez; son-in-law, Andrew Korth; 13 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; also Ray and Monica’s blended second family, Tony (Josie) Morones, Jose Mercado, Jessica Mercado; 6 grandchildren; sister-in-law, Cindy Morones; brother-in-law, Santos Morones; many nieces, nephews; special friend, Charlene Moore; other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by 3 children, Ray Rodriguez, Sonia Rodriguez Korth, Ted Rodriguez; 2 great great grandchildren; and 14 siblings. Funeral services will be held by Daniel J. Annis on Saturday February 10, 2024. Visitation at 3 pm with the service beginning at 4 pm. at Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, 1600 Summerset Dr., Racine, WI
