It is with profound sadness that we share the news of the passing of Richard “Dick” A. Woods, a man whose life was a testament to love, creativity, and adventure.

Dick Woods, a resident of Kenosha, Wisconsin, passed away on Sunday, June 2, at Aurora Medical Center surrounded by his family. Dick was born on January 10, 1936, to Albert and Agness (Androshek) Woods in Kenosha. He graduated from Saint Mary’s High School in 1954. Dick married his wife, Leslie (Wippert) Woods, on March 27, 1971, and they were married for 53 years. They had two children, Bart Woods and Rebecca (Woods) Andersen.

Dick was a professional wedding photographer. Later, he owned and operated a bakery for 14 years before working at Safeway grocery store in Arizona. He returned to Kenosha and retired in 2005.

Dick was a man of many passions and talents. His love for his family and friends was evident in every remodeled room, every stroke of paint on a canvas, every picture taken on his cameras, every note he played on the piano, and every game he played with his loved ones. His adventurous spirit led him to explore the great outdoors by camping, going on cruises, whitewater rafting, and even hot-air ballooning.

Dick is survived by his wife, Leslie, and his four children, Dawn M. Bacon, Michael R. Webb, Bart (Dantri), and Rebecca (Stephen Andersen). He is also survived by five grandchildren, Mae Woods, Kai Woods, Elyse Mianecki, Magregor Mianecki-Saylor, and Arleigh (Saylor) Boucher.

A memorial service will be held at Faithbridge Church, 10402 Northwestern Ave, Franksville, WI 53126, at 4:30 pm on Thursday, June 13, 2024.
