Robert T. Trecek, 91, passed away peacefully at Aurora Medical Center in Mt. Pleasant surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, April 22, 2026.

Bob was born on September 5, 1934, in Boscobel, Wisconsin to John and Dolores (nee: Boland) Trecek. He was a proud graduate of St. Catherine’s High School (class of 1952) and Marquette University (class of 1956). In 1958 he married the love of his life, Mona (nee: Rubach) and they enjoyed more than 66 years together until the time of his death.

Bob’s greatest joy and lasting legacy is his family. In addition to Mona he is survived by his children: Cory (Jim) Anshus, Brian (Carol), Rob (Cathy), Tim (Karyn) and Dan (fiancé Katy Murphy) Trecek. He is further survived by his grandchildren: John James and Bridget Anshus (Chris Meehan); Aubrey and Kevin Trecek, Gabrielle (Ben Nestor), Danielle, and Isabella Trecek; Taylor and Logan Trecek (mother, Cindy), and great-grandchildren Vera and Felix Nestor. The family also includes Jack Bril and Parker Murphy. Bob is further survived by his brother John (Anne) Trecek, nieces, nephews and many relatives and friends.

Bob served his country as a private first class in the US Army Infantry in Ft. Louis, Washington. The consummate “people person,” Bob’s career was spent in public relations, sales promotion, marketing and advertising including positions at Dominican College, Young Radiator Company, Allen-Bradley Company, Western Publishing Company, and Time-Warner Cable among others. His accomplishments were recognized by the Advertising Club of Racine in 1975 when he was named the American Advertising Federation “Ad Man of the Year.” After his retirement, he enjoyed 20 years driving for the Mannheim Auto Auction where he made many close friends.

Bob was a man of deep faith. He and Mona have been dedicated members of Sacred Heart Parish since 1965. Whether as a lector, member of the Holy Name Society, small group participant or festival volunteer, Bob believed in living his faith by serving others and answering the call to discipleship.

A Mass of Christian Burial celebrating Bob’s life will be held 11:30 am, Wednesday April 29, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Ave. Interment with Full Military Honors will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy. 32.
