Robert John Milkie, Sr., age 86, passed away peacefully at home with his wife by his side, Friday, November 29, 2024. He was born in Racine, WI, February 20, 1938, son of the late Jerome and Alice (Nee: Riekkoff) Milkie. He was a lifelong resident of Racine.
Bob had been employed as Director of Purchasing at Delta Resins and Aetna Bearing Co. After retiring he worked for 22 years at Kortendick Hardware until 2020.
On July 26, 1958, he was united in marriage to Joyce Downie and they had 2 sons, Robert Jr and Thomas. With his boys Bob volunteered as a Cub Scout and Boy Scout Leader. On April 12, 1980, he was united in marriage to Evelyn Anderson and they celebrated their 44th anniversary this year.
Bob was an avid sports fan who enjoyed playing racquetball, city basketball, hunting and fishing. His passion was playing and coaching football. He played for the Racine Raiders for 15 years and coached for another 11 years, earning him the nickname “Mr. Raider”. In his retirement he was an assistant coach at Lutheran High School and St. Catherine’s High School. In his spare time, he enjoyed working with wood. Bob will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Surviving are his loving wife, Evelyn, son Thomas Milkie; grandson Maxwell Robert Milkie; special friend Joyce Milkie; brothers Donald (Joan) Milkie, Richard (Marion) Milkie; sister-in-law, Kerry Milkie, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-laws, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Robert Milkie Jr; and brother Jerome Milkie.
Per Bob’s wishes private services were held.
