Surrounded by her loving family, Rosemary A. Lennertz, age 93, passed away at Aurora-Mount Pleasant Medical Center on Wednesday, September 17, 2025. She was born April 11th, 1932, in Cicero, Illinois, daughter of the late Ervin and Marie Sheldon.

Rosemary was a graduate of Nazareth Academy “Class of 1950”. She was married to Richard C. Lennertz, Sr. on February 6th, 1954, and enjoyed 63 years of marriage before his passing in 2017.

Rosemary was a Girl Scout Leader, dedicated member of the Racine Zoological Women’s Auxiliary, and longtime member of the Racine Yacht Club. Rosemary practiced her strong faith at St. Mary’s by the Lake Catholic Church. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister and friend. She loved her pets, especially her cats Sam and Amy and dogs Gretchen, Ginger and Oliver.

She will be dearly missed by her children, Catherine (Mark) Zlevor, Rick C. Lennertz, M.D. (Kathy Feest), and Lisa (Alan) Grodey; her grandchildren, Don (Kelly) Zlevor, Erik (Kate) Zlevor, Richard (Sara) Lennertz III M.D., Ph.D., Ross (Katie) Lennertz, Jenna (Robb) Stoner, Jack Lennertz (Reed Johnson), Will Lennertz (fiancee’ Kasey Fris), Molly (Andrew) Grodey-Morin; her great grandchildren, Noah and Grant Zlevor, Finnegan and Cara Zlevor, Ivy and Adelynn Lennertz, Mady and Hailey Lennertz, Julia, Ariana, Braylon, and Jackson Stoner, and her grand-dogs Blaze and Joey Morin; sister Elaine

(Donald) Svehla, daughter-in-law Jennifer Lennertz, sister-in-law Antoinette (Harry) Filz, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband she was preceded in death by her sister Dolores (Donald) Lennertz, mother-in-law Margaret (Joseph) Doffin, sister-in-law Lois Menden, and brother-in-law Kenneth Estenson.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, October 7th, 2025, 11:30 A.M. at St. Mary's by the Lake Catholic Church, 7605 Lakeshore Dr. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet at the church from 10:00 A.M. until the time of mass.

Enjoy a day with your family in Rosemary’s memory. She is enjoying being reunited with her beloved husband and baking kolach and houska with her mother and sister! The family extends a special thank you to Tracy from Comfort Keepers as well as the wonderful staff at St. Monica’s and Aurora Medical Center for their loving and compassionate care of Rosemary.
