Life Story / Obituary
Sherrie A. Tucker, beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend, passed away peacefully on January 7, 2025, at the age of 60. Born in Racine, Wisconsin, Sherrie was the cherished daughter of the late Travis Tucker Jr., and Ella Louise (nee: Buckley) Tucker.
Sherrie received her formal education from Racine Unified School District and graduated from Washington Park High School. She was known for her kind spirit, deep compassion, and an unwavering love for her family and friends.
Sherrie had a vibrant personality and a zest for life that was reflected in her many hobbies and passions. She loved roller skating, shopping, traveling, and spending time with her family during holidays and birthdays. Her exceptional cooking skills brought joy to every gathering, and she will always be remembered for her warmth and hospitality. A dedicated caregiver, Sherrie lovingly cared for her first cousin, Joy Bedford, for over 30 years, embodying selflessness and devotion.
Sherrie leaves to cherish her memories, her daughter, Masheeka (Antonio DeLeon) Lee, and her beloved grandchildren, Rickie Coleman III, Kariana Allen, and Amiri DeLeon, who were the light of her life. She leaves behind her special friend Corey Brown, who brought her joy and companionship.
She is also survived by her brothers, Antonio (Valerie) Tucker and Conrese Williams; her nieces, Jackie (David) Wilson, Jessica (Jaz) Davis, Sherrie “Shiree” Tucker, and Ivory Ann Tucker; and her great-nephews, Damien McCray Jr., Adam Blair, and Alexander, Jonathan, and Christopher Wilson. Her great-nieces, Dashiree McCray, Deaja Tucker, and Jazlyn (Justin) Tharp. Sherrie also cherished her bonus sister, Allyson (John) Bouie, whose bond she treasured deeply. Additionally, a host of family, friends and loved ones too numerous to mention by name.
Sherrie was preceded in death by her parents, Travis & Louise Tucker; brothers, Glen and Ivy T. Tucker; grandparents, Deacon Andrew and Ora Belle (Johnson) Buckley, Travis Tucker Sr., and Joanna (Lewis) Tucker.
Sherrie will be remembered for her selfless nature, her loving heart, and her unwavering commitment to family. Her deep, hearty laugh filled the room with warmth and joy. Her presence will be dearly missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
