Silkey Uati

Silkey Uati formerly Walter “Mane” Wilson, age 64, passed away Wednesday November 10, 2021, at Ascension All Saints Medical Center. Walter Wilson was born in Cleveland, Mississippi, on September 22, 1957, son of the late Percy and Ethel (nee: Davis Wilson.

Walter, known as “Mane” to his friends, went to Horlick High School. Through the years, he was employed with various companies. He later changed his name legally to Silkey Uati, to match his personality. Silkey will be remembered fondly for his charisma, kindness and Silkey smooth ways. He enjoyed life, spending time with his grandkids, his family and his dogs.

Silkey will be dearly missed by his children, Walter Wilson Jr., Darkela (Dwan) Earl; grandchildren, Jaquon, Markeith, Cordae, Keinari, Makaila, Dominique, Cashea, Loyalty, Khalil, Royce, Darnejah, Dar’kwan and Cynseir; great grandchildren, Loyal, Clotezz, Jah’Meirr and Bennie; sisters, Rosie Davis, Gertrude McGee, Charlene Wilson; brother, Willie Davis; many nieces, nephews; other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents, Silkey was also preceded in death by his siblings, Charlie Maddox, Madie Elam and Norma Davis.
