Susan B. Christensen, age 83, passed away Friday October 18, 2024. Susan was born in Racine on July 18, 1941, daughter of the late Bern and Gladys (nee: Eisentraut) Salbreiter, and had been a lifelong resident.

Sue was a proud graduate of St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1959” and then furthered her education at the Prospect Hall Secretarial School in Milwaukee. On August 26, 1961, Susan married the love of her life, Larry (Sundown) Christensen at St. Joseph Catholic Church. They raised four children, Laurie, Joe, Tim, and Karen. They shared forty-two beautiful years together before Larry passed away in 2003. Sue was a dedicated longtime member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. In her spare time, she enjoyed cheering on the St. Louis Cardinals and perusing her cookbook collection for the next great recipe to try. Sue will be remembered fondly for providing home childcare; for being a “second mother” to so many families. Most of all, she is treasured for her great love and devotion to her family.

Sue will be missed greatly by her children, Laurie (John) Landaal, Joe (Ellen) Christensen, Tim (Shelly) Christensen, Karen Christensen; grandchildren, Emily (Stuart) White and Erica Christensen, Kristen Landaal, Sam (Sophie Zogg) Christensen and Danee (Steven Gardner) Christensen; great granddaughter Alma White; sister, Jeanne Budlong; brother-in-law, Jack (Eileen LaCanne) Christensen; niece, Denise (Ray) Kano; nephews, Jason (Jessica) Kreul, and Brandon Kreul; cousins, other relatives, and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St., on Saturday October 26, 2024, 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at the church on Saturday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. In lieu of flowers, memorials to the Special Olympics-MN Western Wings Club or St.Jude Children’s Research Hospital have been suggested.

The family extends a special thank you to the entire staff at Ridgewood Care Center and to Aurora Hospice, especially Shalby Reed, for their loving and compassionate care.
