Thomas A. Statz, age 85, passed away Sunday, May 26, 2024, at Oak Park Place, Oak Creek. He was born in Madison, WI, on December 4, 1938, son of the late Matthias and Freida (Nee: Wirth) Statz.

Tom was a graduate of UW Madison, receiving his degree in landscape architecture. He proudly served his country in the US Navy. On October 7, 1967, he was united in marriage to Joan Myszkowski who preceded him in death on August 27, 2014. Tom was employed by Racine County as the Park and Planning Director.

Tom was a longtime member of St. Edward Catholic Church. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and trap shooting. He also found great pleasure solving his crossword puzzles. It was time spent with his family that he cherished most.

He was loved dearly and will be sadly missed by his sons, Jeffrey (Darla) Statz of Oconomowoc, and Timothy (Kathleen) Statz of Oak Creek; 5 grandchildren, Hannah, Tyler, Thomas, Katelynn, and Allison; sister-in-law, Beverly Statz Haen; nieces, nephews other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents and wife he was preceded in death by his mother-in-law and father-in-law, Agnes and Bernard Myszkowski; siblings: Christine (Albert) Herfel, James (Lois) Statz, Bill Statz, Joseph (Barbara) Statz; and in-laws: Jerome (Lorraine) Myszkowski, Ben (Elaine) Myszkowski, Betty (Alex) Muza, and James (Barb) Myszkowski.

A Memorial Mass celebrating Tom’s life will be held 11:00 am, Tuesday June 25, 2024, at St. Edward Catholic Church, 1401 Grove Ave. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation, Tuesday, 10:00 am until time of Mass at the church. A very special thank you to the staff at Oak Park Place for their loving and compassionate care.
