Winfred Alice Winser, age 99, passed away Saturday, June 7, 2025, at St. Monica’s Senior Living. She was born in Racine, WI, May 2, 1926, daughter of the late William and Alice (Nee:VanRooy) Zlevor.

Winifred graduated from St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1944”. On May 3, 1947, she was united in marriage to William Kirt and they were blessed with 7 children, Catherine, Richard, John, Stephen, Margaret, Kenneth, and Theresa. William passed away August 17, 1972. On January 28, 1989, she was united in marriage to Gerald Winser who passed away November 26, 2015.

Winifred was employed as a clerk for the City of Racine Treasury for 17 years retiring in 1988. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. She enjoyed sewing, sewing, and sewing. Next to sewing she enjoyed knitting, embroidery and reading murder mysteries. Her passion was her family. She will be remembered as a “good mom” who was an excellent cook, baker and provider for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her children, Richard Kirt, Stephen (Susan) Kirt, Kenneth Kirt, and Theresa (George) Markiewicz; daughter-in-law, Jacki Kirt; son-in-law, Lee Hansen; 12 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren: brother, David (Adele) Zlevor; stepchildren, step grandchildren; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Catherine (Donald) Carbonneau, Margaret Hansen; son, John Kirt; daughter-in-law, Barabara Kirt; and brother, William (Elaine) Zlevor.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring St. Friday, June 13, 2025, 11:00 am with Rev. Thomas Vathappallil officiating. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family prior to the Mass 10 – 11 am.

Memorials to Catholic Charities or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital have been suggested.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the team at St. Croix Hospice for their loving and compassionate care.
