Life Story / Obituary
Agnes Rose Peterson, age 95, passed away peacefully with her family by her side on New Years Day morning at the Hospice house in Pleasant Prairie. Agnes was born in Racine on September 6, 1929, daughter of the late Joseph and Hildegard (nee: Hugel) Fleuchaus.
Agnes was a proud graduate of St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1947”. On June 18, 1960, she was united in marriage to the love of her life, Robert E. “Bob” Peterson at Holy Name Catholic Church. They shared fifty-seven beautiful years and raised six children together before Bob passed away in 2017. Agnes was employed with SC Johnson for thirteen years, but her most important job was raising her family, where she excelled at cooking, baking and providing a wonderful happy home. She enjoyed singing in the Holy Name choir and was a charter member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. She served many years as the chair of the Human Concerns Committee. In her spare time, Agnes enjoyed classical music, reading, tending to the harvest from the garden, vacations in the Northwoods and traveling around the world with her husband Bob. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren, whom she adored.
Agnes will be dearly missed by her children, Paul (Lori) Peterson, Donna (Mark) Siegesmund, Ron (Dawn) Peterson, Joan (Jon) Frickensmith, Greg (Anne-Marie) Peterson, Karen Luba; grandchildren, Jake Ostergaard, Anna and Andrew Peterson, Kaitlyn and Sarah (fiancé, Aaron) Frickensmith, Cherie, Olivia and Tim Peterson, Yash and Grace Luba; brothers, Al (Janet) Fleuchaus, Wally (Paulene) Fleuchaus; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and husband, Agnes was also preceded in death by her brother, Joe (Pat) Fleuchaus, sister, Rita (Ed) Braun, sister-in-law (Dorothy), brothers-in-law, Jack (Joyce) Peterson, Don (June) Peterson, William (Barbara) Peterson and son-in-law, Joe Luba.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring Street, on Wednesday, January 15, 2025, 11:00 a.m. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 14,2025 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and at the church on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass. Memorials to St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church or to the Michael J. Fox Foundation have been suggested.
The family would like to thank Dr. Bake and Hospice Alliance for their compassionate care.
