Alice Irene Weaver of Racine, WI, treasured mother, grandmother and great-grandmother peacefully left this world in the early hours of Sunday, June 2, 2024. She was 97 years of age.

Alice was born in Coldwater, MI in July 1926 to Agnes and Frank Swantek. She married William (Bud) Weaver January 10, 1946; together they raised four children. After moving to Racine in 1967, she worked at the Racine Industrial Plant while raising her children and at InSinkErator. She was an active member of St. Richard of Chichester’s Parish.

Alice always held a soft spot in her heart for stray or wounded creatures, healing birds, rabbits and squirrels and she passed this love for animals on to her children. In fact, her most treasured pets were strays that appeared on her doorstep and adopted her. She possessed a deep and genuine curiosity about the people in her life and world around her. Baseball and softball were her main sports interests. An ardent Milwaukee Brewer’s fan, she also followed the Chicago Cubs and faithfully attended years of softball games, even as her children grew to adulthood. Alice nurtured an independent spirit in her children and grandchildren as well as a sense of curiosity and wonder about the world around her.

Alice was preceded in death by her husband, Bud, and sister Louise (Orlo) Strong. She is survived by her sister Virginia Smith; daughters Linda (Dave) Rosenthal, Diane Weaver (Craig Lockwood) and Mary Weaver; one son Ron (Des) Weaver; grand-daughters Rebecca (Anthony) Bergeron and Marsha Weaver and great grandchildren Samantha, Anthony and Daniella Bergeron.

Funeral services will be held at the funeral home, Wednesday, June 12, 2024, 11am with Rev. Juan Camacho officiating. Private interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet prior to the service 10- 11 am.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Richard of Chichester’s Parish "Envelope Fund" Grand Avenue in Racine or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
