Andre Alan Yarber

Andre Alan Yarber, age 44, passed away unexpectedly at his home on Monday, March 3, 2025. He was born in Racine on October 2, 1980, to Dwight E. Johnson Sr. and Kathy A. Thurman.

Andre was employed at various companies, including Amazon, and he found great joy working as a manager at Popeye’s for many years. Known for his bright personality and infectious smile, Andre had a heart full of love. His kindness and generosity touched everyone he met, and he had a special ability to make others feel valued and cared for. He was particularly fond of children, always going out of his way to offer them support, guidance, and affection. His loving nature extended to everyone in his life, from family to friends, and he was always ready to lend a helping hand or share a word of encouragement.

Andre loved God and had a passion for fishing, playing cards, and spending quality time with his family, whom he cherished deeply. He was a loving father, son, brother, uncle and friend, and his presence brought warmth and joy to all who knew him. Traveling was another one of his great loves, and he enjoyed exploring new places and making lasting memories with those he held dear.

He was married to Lamika Parker from 2009 to 2018. Andre was loved dearly and will be deeply missed by his parents, Dwight (Jodi) Johnson and Kathy Thurman; children, Adriana Owens, Omuneekwa Ford, Kia’Treveon Ford; siblings, Shayla Carey, Kay Thurman, Lakesha (James) Spachman, Dwight (Erin) Johnson Jr., and Leanna (Clifton) Jones; nieces, nephews; special cousins: Brandon Flagg, Thomas Flagg, Terrell Strickland, Kendrick Strickland, and many other relatives and dear friends.

A Memorial Service celebrating Andre’s life will be held at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home on Friday, March 21, 2025. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation from 3:00 p.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
