Ann Marie Wehnert (Nee:Dolphi), 83, crossed over into eternal life on Sunday, March 14th at home surrounded by her loving family.

Ann was born in Rhode Island, lived in several states on the East Coast before moving to Wisconsin ten years ago to live with her son and his family. She was preceded in death by her husband, William Wehnert Sr, seven sisters and a brother and other loved ones.

A strong and independent woman, she raised her three children after losing her husband very early on in life. She held a variety of jobs which included administrative assistant, school secretary, bookkeeper and plant engineer for a home fashion company.

A faith-filled woman, she taught CCD for 25 years and was very active in her church. She taught first aid swimming for young children. She was Scuba certified and enjoyed the outdoors, rock climbing, horseback riding, and even went cross country skiing with Maria Von Trapp. She sang in the church choir for many years, and most recently in the St. Sebastian Choir where she had many beloved friends. She never met anyone she did not like, and was always willing to talk and share a good story.

Surviving are her children, William and Ann (Kortendick) Wehnert, Jim and Jennifer (Windsor) Wehnert, and Eileen and Dan Palmer. Also surviving are her much loved grandchildren, Abigail Palmer, Matthew and John Paul Wehnert, Gabriela and Brooke Wehnert, Daniel (Megan) Boland, great grandchildren Remington and Reagan, nieces, nephews, other relatives and many dear friends.

A visitation will be held on Friday, March 19th from 5pm-7pm, with a rosary at 7pm at the funeral home. Due to COVID, the Mass of Christian burial will be held privately and livestreamed.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to support Fr. Javier’s ministry at La SaGrada Familia in the Dominican Republic, care of Community of St. Paul, 1505 Howard St. Racine, WI 53404.

The family wishes to thank the many doctors, nurses, aids and everyone she came in contact with at Ascension’s Cancer Center, Nephrology and Pulmonary Departments for their compassionate care. In addition, we would like to thank Mary Jane Andersen, Judy Sewell and Kathleen Tajnai for their help in making mom’s final days at home more comfortable.
