Anne Scott Tredwell, age 94, passed away peacefully on Sunday December 8, 2024 at Kirkland Crossings in Pewaukee. Anne was born in New York, NY; raised in Crestwood, NY; and Racine, WI resident since 1972. Only Daughter of James W. Scott and Louise Graham Scott.

Graduated from Centenary Junior College (NJ) and worked for several years for Time Magazine at 30 Rockefeller Center. She married Don Tredwell in 1955 and was married for 57 years before his passing in 2012.

They raised 3 children (Jim, John and Susan) in Scarsdale, NY and Darien, CT before moving to Racine, WI in 1972. Anne spent her time raising 3 children and began working for a local real estate firm as the kids got older. Regretfully - as Anne had married Don for life/it did not include lunch! - she had to leave to help with the office work and shipping department of Markwell Medical (husband Don’s start-up), located in the basement of the family home in Racine.

Anne was a faithful member of First Presbyterian Church and PEO(Racine). Anne loved her dogs and she helped raise and care for a bevy of Golden Retrievers over the years – Tora; Kursten, Katie and Summer.

The litany of activities and adventures with Don included 25 years of canoe trips with dear Racine friends, 16 bike trips across Europe and the US (on the last bike trip Anne was 79!), biking all around Wisconsin, regular ski trips out east and out west and countless travels around the world and US to see family and friends. Anne and Don loved being snowbirds for 20+ winters in Tucson, AZ with many of their friends from Racine, and spending time at their condo in Fish Creek, WI for 40+ years.

Anne was always up for being with or doing something fun with her family and friends. At her 90th Birthday weekend celebration, the phrase “Grandma is on the move” was coined and descriptive well beyond that gathering. Her strength of character came shining through after Don passed and never ceased to amaze family with how she “carried on”. She never lost her smiles, her joy, and her care for others, especially her family.

She is predeceased by her husband Don. Survivors include Jim Tredwell and his family in Pewaukee, WI, John Tredwell and his family in Anthem, AZ and Susan Kuruvilla and her family in San Diego, CA. She had 6 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

A memorial service will be held at First Presbyterian Church, 716 College Avenue, on Saturday February 8, 2025, 11:00 a.m. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m. Memorials to First Presbyterian Church, PEO (Racine) or the Racine Art Museum (RAM) have been suggested.

The family extends a special thank you to the caring staff at Kirkland Crossing in Pewaukee, WI.
