Annie P. Woods, age 79, passed away Saturday September 4, 2016 at Ridgewood Care Center. Annie was born in Forkland, AL on January 6, 1937, daughter of the late Louis and Alice (nee: McGraw) Williams.

On September 17, 1954 in Meridian, MS, she was united in marriage to Rev. Essie E. Woods. They shared forty-five beautiful years together before he passed away on October 17, 1999. Annie was a member of the Eastern Star and former First Lady of Mt. Eagle Missionary Baptist Church and Greater St. Luke’s Baptist Church, where her husband Rev. E.E. Woods served as Pastor for thirty years. She will be remembered fondly for her great love and devotion to her family.

Annie left to cherish her precious memories, her children, Sandra (Simon) Merriweather, Larry (Sylvia) Woods, Freddie Woods, Marilyn Petty, Debra (Michael) Cornelius, Curtis (Linda) Woods, Michael (Lethea) Woods, Donna Woods, Leona (Rondell) Brumby; 27 grandchildren; 23 great- grandchildren; 4 great-great- grandchildren; sisters, Maggie Davis, Bernice (Bruce) Fletcher, Gloria Gordon; sister-in-law, Eliza Woods; special cousin, Margaret (Wesley) Earl, Woods family Matriarch Mittie Mayfield; special friends, Lawrence Allen and Mary Langford; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and her husband, Annie was also preceded in death by her son, Jeffrey; brother, Joe Louis Williams; and her step mother Maple Williams.

Homegoing services will be held at St. Paul Missionary Baptist Church, 1120 Grand Avenue, on Friday September 9, 2016, 11:00 a.m., with Bishop L.L. Kirby officiating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at the church on Friday from 10:00 a.m. until time of service at 11:00 a.m.
