With her 3 daughters by her side, Audrey, age 94, passed away peacefully on November 4, 2024, at her residence.

Audrey was born in Mitchell, South Dakota on October 4, 1930 to the late Anna and Wayne Ferguson. After graduating from high school, Audrey attended Dakota Wesleyan University where she received a teaching certificate and began her career teaching 5th and 6th grades. During that time, she met Joseph, the school principal. At a community dance, the new teacher and principal danced the night away. He later asked her out on their first date by sending a note via her student.

On June 10,1954, Joe and Audrey were married in Mitchell, South Dakota. Together for nearly 60 years, they raised 3 daughters. In 1967, Joe and Audrey moved to Racine where Audrey was a homemaker and later an office manager at Norco Manufacturing. She retired from Norco after 25 years. She was a long-time member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church.

Audrey’s number one priority was her family and much of her time was devoted to dearly loving and caring for them all. Joe and Audrey did everything together and never missed any family events. They were avid travelers, visiting many countries including Australia, Ireland Germany, Luxembourg, France, Hungary, UK, Russia, Switzerland, Italy, Mexico, Fiji, New Zealand and traveling across the U.S. In her pastime, she loved gardening, flowers, and spending time with her grandchildren. She will be greatly missed.

She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph, her parents Wayne and Anna Ferguson, her infant daughter Lona, her sister Phyllis James and other nieces, nephews, and relatives.

Survivors include daughters Sona Thomas, Deborah (Merle) Bodmer and Colleen (David) Tobin-Voves; five grandchildren, Michael Thomas, Grant (Mariah) Bodmer, Derek Bodmer, Natasha Voves, and Sean Voves; nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
