Aurelie S. Ashbeck

With her family at her side, Aurelie (Raelee) S. Ashbeck, age 82, passed away Saturday, August 30. 2025 at Aurora Medical Center, Mount Pleasant. She was born in Dorchester, WI January 25, 1943, daughter of the late Steve and Margaret (Nee: Froebel) Chotoff.

Aurelie graduated from Dorchester High School and went on to receive her Elementary Education degree from UW LaCrosse in 1967. On August 14, 1971, she was united in marriage to Gerald Ashbeck who preceded her in death February 12, 2018. Aurelie taught school in Beloit and Wisconsin Rapids for a total of 17 years. She was an avid quilter, who enjoyed sewing, camping, playing cards and wintering in Tuscon, AZ. She will be remembered for her love of spending time with family and friends, trips to different casinos, and for living life to the fullest. Aurelie was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her daughter Jennifer (Dane) Hofmeister; son, Brian Ashbeck; 5 grandchildren, Josuha Graves, Veronica (Alex) Wright, Isabella Ashbeck, Silas Hofmeister, Coddia Hofmeister; 2 great grandchildren, Phoenix Graves and Tucker Wright; in-laws, Dwyane (Shirley) Ashbeck, Karen (Ron) Tlachac; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents and Gerald she was preceded in death by her brother-in-law, Chuck Ashbeck.

Graveside services will be held at Rest Lawn Memorial Park in Wisconsin Rapids, Friday, September 26, 2025 at Noon. A Celebration of life and buffet luncheon will follow from 1-6 pm at Hotel Mead, 451 E. Grand Avenue, Wisconsin Rapids.
