Life Story / Obituary

Bernice Mary (Dembroski) Styberg passed away on Thursday, February 5, 2026. She was born on August 29, 1930, the daughter of Ben and Evelyn (Kowbel) Dembroski.

Bernice graduated from Park High School. On June 30, 1951, she was united in marriage to Earnest C. Styberg, Jr., the love of her life. They enjoyed a wonderful life together for 67 years until Ernie’s death in 2018. Bernice’s fondest memories in life were being with her wonderful husband. Bernice said when asked if she could live life over again what she would change and she said she would change nothing, except being a little taller.

As a philanthropist, Bernice was very proud of the endeavors she supported. She had a love of church, golf, water and snow skiing and gardening. The greatest inspirations in her life were her husband, her father-in-law, her parents and her former pastor Dr. Clarence Seidenspinner.

Bernice wants her family and friends to remember her for the love she has for them. Her message to family and friends is love one another, love begets love and remember “I love you”.

Bernice is survived by other relatives, her Company family and many dear friends.

A memorial service will be held at the Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, 803 Main St. Friday, February 27, 2026, 11 am with Reverend David Heetland officiating. A reception will follow. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to HALO, St. Monicas Senior Living, Lake Geneva Water Patrol, Salvation Army, Camp Anokijig or donors of your choice, reflecting her lifelong commitment to helping others.
