Betty Brooks-Lipor

Betty Brooks-Lipor peacefully passed away on Monday, April 14th, 2025.

Born and raised in Kimball, South Dakota. Betty and her family grew up working at Brooks Hardware, owned by her parents Ben and Opal. On Friday and Saturday nights Betty could be found cruising the streets of Kimball in the store’s pickup truck.

Following her graduation from Augustana College, Betty moved to Racine, Wisconsin to begin teaching. Betty spent the majority of her career at Walden III where she was a teacher, coordinator, friend, and mentor.

After her retirement Betty enjoyed traveling the world with her husband, Rod Lipor, visiting her daughters, Emily (James Krocak) and Lindsey (Joseph Heintz), and spending time with her beloved grandchildren Jane, Maeve, and Logan.

Betty loved being outdoors working in her garden and taking walks, often with a dear friend at her side. She enjoyed reading and being a part of her book club. She was active in the local AAUW chapter. Betty was constantly making plans with friends and family and was always up for playing a game of cards. Betty’s infectious laugh and exuberant personality were truly a joy.

A memorial service for Betty will be held on Saturday, June 14th. Visitation to take place from 1:00 to 3:00 PM at Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, followed by a service at 3:00 PM. Immediately following the service, please join us for a Celebration of Life at the Klinkert House Hotel, located at 2810 Wisconsin St., Sturtevant.

In lieu of flowers, her family suggests donations to an organization or cause Betty was passionate about.
