Betty Jo Heegeman

Betty Jo Heegeman, age 90, passed away Monday, January 11, 2016 at Wheaton Franciscan – All Saints Medical Center. Betty was born in Racine, January 16, 1925, daughter of the late Theodore and Hendrika (Nee: Niessing) Heegeman and was a lifelong resident of Racine. She was employed for many years at the Dumore Corporation. Betty was a lifetime member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She enjoyed politics and was a member of the National Republican Party.

Survivors include twelve nieces and nephews who loved her very much. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her sisters and brothers, Marie (Joseph) Sowinski, Dorothy Christman, Lorraine (Chester) Matelski, Jack (Hilde) Heegeman, and LeRoy Heegeman.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, January 16, 2016, 10:00 A.M. at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 2201 Northwestern Avenue, with Rev. Ricardo Martin officiating. Private interment will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family Saturday at the church from 9:00 A.M. until time of Mass at 10:00 A.M. Memorials to Sacred Heart Catholic Church have been suggested.
