Betty graduated from St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1948”. On May 2, 1953, at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church she married Jacob N. Schuit, and they were blessed with 3 sons, Gregory, Mark, and John. Jacob passed away August 9, 1986, after 33 years of marriage. Betty was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church. She was employed by Voorless Mfg and the Andis Company. Betty was a quiet, reserved, kind and strong woman who tackled life adversities with uncomplaining, quiet strength. Holiday gatherings and family celebrations were important and she enjoyed travel, gathering with lifelong friends, playing cribbage, and reading romance novels. Betty was also a Hallmark Channel Junkie who enjoyed her soap operas, Days of Our Lives, General Hospital, and The Young and Restless. Above all Betty treasured time spent with family and was extremely close to her sisters, whom all preceded her in death. She will be dearly missed.
