Carolyn Schuessler, age 98, passed away at home with her family by her side Saturday, August 22, 2026. She was born in Racine, December 29, 1927, daughter of the late Angelo and Carmella (Nee: DiPasquale) Puma.

Carolyn graduated from Wm Horlick High School “Class of 1946” and had worked at Hamilton Beach Co for 12 years. On October 26, 1957, at St. Edward Catholic Church she was united in marriage to John W. “Jack” Schuessler, and they were blessed with 2 boys Thomas and John. Carolyn was an Education Assistant at Jefferson Lighthouse for many years. She was a member of St. Lucy Catholic Church and the Harmony Club. She enjoyed BINGO at the Salvation Army and her frequent visits at Culver’s. Carolyn will be remembered for her Big Italian Christmas’s and her devotion to her family, especially her grandson. She will be dearly missed.

Surviving are her son, John (Elzabeth) Schuessler Jr.; grandson, William Schuessler (Michaela Baudry); special niece, Cathy Joy Puma; special nephew, Paul Connor; special friends, Jim Holt, Pat Thompson, Sue Miller, and Carol Petersen; other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John in 2005 and her son Thomas in 2006.

Funeral services will be held at the Maresh-Meredith & Acklam Funeral Home, 803 Main St. Monday, August 31, 2026, 11 am. Private entombment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet prior to the service 10-11 am. Memorials to St. Lucy’s Catholic Church, Harmony Club or the Salvation Army have been suggested.

The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Carolyn’s many neighbors for friendship and support through the years.
