Carrie Sue Cape Jacobs passed away suddenly in Monterey, CA on January 10, 2022. Born on October 8, 1958, in Racine, WI, to Richard and Jeanne (Hanson) Cape, she graduated from Horlick High School class of 1977, and went on to continue her education at Gateway Technical School. She was an avid tennis player, and also enjoyed basketball and softball. For 18 years she and her sister owned and operated the Avenue Frame Shop in downtown Racine. Carrie married Stephen Jacobs in August of 1997. Shortly thereafter, they relocated to Virginia and then on to California in 2002, where they raised their sons on the Monterey peninsula overlooking the ocean, and where Carrie volunteered at the Monterey Aquarium. She was devoted to her family, caring for her parents and in-laws through their infirmities. Carrie was a very kind, creative and generous person who made friends wherever she went. She had a joyful and optimistic attitude that touched those around her, and she will be greatly missed by her family and friends.

Survivors include her son, Benjamin, of Silverdale, WA, and step-son, Henry Jacobs, of Lincoln, NE; brother Richard (Deborah) Cape of Fort Collins, CO, and sister, Rebecca (Stan) Postorino of Whitefish Bay, WI; nephew, Nicholas (Sara) Postorino of Bergamo, Italy, nieces Sina (Ryan) Postorino Teskey of Whitefish Bay, WI, Abigail (Nicholas) Cape Romero of Shorewood, WI, and Madison Cape of Bend, OR, and many great nieces and nephews she adored. She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Jeanne Cape, her in-laws, Harold and Alice Jacobs; and her husband, Stephen Jacobs, passed away shortly after her death.

A celebration of Carrieā€™s life will be held at a later date. Memorials are suggested to Camp Anokijig, W5639 Anokijig Lane, Plymouth, WI 53073.
