Charles Jozsef Paksi

Charles J. Paksi, age 86, passed away peacefully Friday May 24, 2024, at his residence. Charles was born in Papa, Hungary on August 1, 1937, son of the late Karly and Elizabeth (nee: Cook) Paksi. In 1956 during the Hungarian Revolution, he immigrated to the United States first to Chicago and eventually Racine.

On May 5, 1988, Charles was united in marriage to Valtruda “Sue” (nee: Kempin) Kapitany. A custom woodworker, he was employed with Racine Wood Products for over twenty-five years. He was a member of Living Faith Lutheran Church. In his spare time, Charles enjoyed gardening, jazz concerts and spending quality time with his wife.

Charles will be dearly missed by his wife of thirty-six years, Sue; his son, Charles (Alexa) Paksi Jr; grandchildren, Zoe, Gabe, Ellie, and Charlie; stepchildren, Elizabeth (Andrew) Tourlas, Joseph (Sharon) Kapitany, and Eric Kapitany; his twin sister, Elizabeth Puklics of Hungary; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday June 1, 2024, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. with a service celebrating Charles’s life to start at 11:00 a.m. A luncheon will follow.
