Life Story / Obituary
Christina Mary (Maier) Deschler, age 60, peacefully passed away on July 14th at Ascension All Saints Hospital in Racine, WI.
Chris was born on July 26th, 1965, in Racine, to David Maier and Paula (Murphy) (Maier) Haag. She was united in marriage to Peter Deschler on Sept. 12th, 1992.
Chris worked various jobs throughout her life. She worked as a material handler at Andis Company, was a partner in Peter’s catering business and Gambler’s restaurant. She volunteered for Horlick’s Choir program for many years. Her favorite job was being a homemaker, cooking delicious food, and enjoying time with her children and grandchildren.
Chris was an enthusiastic rummager, an avid thrifter, and she couldn’t pass up a clearance as “someone could use them”, she’d say. Knowing Chris was knowing where she would be every Sunday night, curb shopping. Chris had a heart of gold and has spent her life helping others. She was the one you could count on to be there, without fail. Every. Single. Time. Chris was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, and friend.
Chris is survived by her husband Peter, sons Peter (Amanda), Alex (Angel), daughter Hailey (Christian) Isaacson, Mother Paula Haag, sisters Ann Maier, Jennifer Hargrove, Roxie (Pat) Milhouse, Polly (Dewey) Lawrence, Karen Running, and Denise (Keith) Beaudin, brother Wally (Roberta) Haag, brother-in-law Glen (Judy) Deschler, grandchildren; Brendon, Darren, Kaylyn, Cameron Isaacson, Emma, Elijah, Elizabeth Deschler, and Grayson Deschler, and many other close relatives.
Chris was preceded in death by her son Adam Maier, fathers David Maier and Walter Haag, all grandparents, mother-in-law Rita Deschler, brothers-in-law Virgil Hargrove and Donald Running, sisters-in-law Janet Haigh and Mary Deschler, and many other relatives.
The family would like to give special thanks to the caregivers at Ascension All Saints Hospital in Racine for their kindness, attentiveness, and overall support to Chris and our entire family.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like you to save that money and take your family out to dinner.
Funeral Services will be held at the funeral home, 5:00 pm, on Friday, July 24, 2026. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation on Friday at 3:00 until time of service.
Please wear one thing purple for Chris.
