Life Story / Obituary
With her family by her side, Daisy Rena Wilson, age 74, passed away peacefully, Sunday, November 3, 2024, at Aurora Zilber Family Hospice. She was born on Valentine’s Day, February 14, 1950, daughter of the late Richard and Willa Bea (Nee: Curry) Rollins.
On June 16, 1967, Daisy was united in marriage to Julien Grant Wilson Sr., who preceded her in death on April 29, 2017. She was a member of Faith Christian Fellowship. Daisy's zest for shopping, fashion, music, and dancing will always be remembered. Take her shopping, buy her a fashion magazine, or treat her to a Whopper for a smile. Playing her favorite song by Freddie Jackson, 'You Are My Lady', will bring an even bigger smile. Above all, she cherished time with family and enjoyed getting her nails done with granddaughters Shakita and Oprea.
She was loved dearly and will be sadly missed by her ten children, Julien Grant (Gelyn) Wilson Jr., Darell Wilson, Bernice Wilson, Debra Wilson, Denise (Kenn) Mashatt, Thelya Rodney Wilson, Raymond Douglas Wilson, Laquisha Monique Wilson, Nord Dan Wilson, Donald Wilson, 1 stepdaughter Janice Tasha (Curtis)Wilson Brown, 20 grandchildren, 6 great grandchildren; siblings Willa Jeanie Rollins, Barbara Rollins, Wylena (Willie) Braswell, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Kentay Stevenson, sisters, Rochelle Rollins, Bessie Mae Lee, Hattie Young, and Anna Belle Rollins, grandchildren, Dasia Rena Wilson, Malik Isaiah Smith and her son-in-law, Willie Dion Smith.
Funeral Services celebrating Daisy’s life will be held at the funeral home, 11:00 am, Friday, November 15, 2024, with Pastor Todd and Apostle Sheila Nienhaus concelebrating. Interment will follow at Graceland Cemetery. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet with the family for Visitation, Friday at 10:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.
We express our deep appreciation to Shalanda McGee and the dedicated staff at Vision of Life, where Daisy called home for over a decade, and to the Aurora Zilber Family Hospice team for their unwavering commitment to compassionate care until Daisy's passing.
