Dan Bartelt

Dan Jonathan Bartelt, age 55, passed away unexpectedly Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Wheaton Franciscan All Saints Medical Center. He was born in Valparaiso, IN August 4, 1957 son of the late Louis and Carlene (Nee: Heidbrink) Bartelt.

Dan was raised in Valparaiso and graduated from Carroll College, Waukesha, WI. On May 19, 2001 in Key West, FL he was united in marriage to the love of his life Sandra K. Knorr. Dan was employed for over twenty years as a cartographer at Seeger Map Co. Dan enjoyed athletics, was an avid golfer, and competed in the Ironman Triathlon in Hawaii. He also loved nature and time spent up at the cottage on Pine Lake. He will be dearly missed.

Surviving are his loving wife, Sandra; brother and sister-in-law, Mark and Jackie Bartelt of St. Monica, CA; nieces and nephew, Elizabeth, Rebecca, and Ben; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Gerda and Herbert Knorr, other relatives and dear friends.

Private services will be held. Memorials to Valparaiso University Chapel or Mosquito Hill Nature Center have been suggested.
