Life Story / Obituary
Daniel John Eeg, age 72, passed away Friday, August 30, 2024, at Ascension All Saints Hospital. He was born in Akron, OH, August 26, 1952, son of the late Edward and Nancy (Nee: Mundt) Eeg and was raised in Racine. Daniel graduated from St. Catherine’s High School “Class of 1970”.
On June 11, 1976, he was united in marriage to the love of his life RaeAnn Granger, and they were blessed with 3 children, Hillarie, Tobias, and Caleb. Dan retired from SC Johnson and Son after 30 years of employment. He was a Wisconsin Sports Enthusiast and in his early years played City League Softball. He enjoyed coaching his sons basketball teams, his daughters softball teams as well as being a cub scout leader. Dan’s passions included playing the guitar, spending time with family and friends camping and celebrating the 4th of July. He particularly enjoyed attending the sporting events of his children and grandchildren. He was a devoted husband, father and grandfather who will be dearly missed.
Surviving are his wife of 48 years, RaeAnn; children, Hillarie Eeg, Tobias (Kelley) Eeg, Caleb (Ashley) Eeg; 6 grandchildren, Carter and Harper Eeg, Carsen, Cameron, Braylon, and Graysen Eeg; siblings, Jonahan Eeg, Barbara (Scott) Braun, Lauraellen Eeg; in-laws, Robert Granger, Margaret (Gary) Bednar, Anne (Jim) Hayden; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to his parents, Dan was preceded in death by his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Sally and Richard Granger, his brother-in-law Jeffrey Granger and sister-in-law Lynn Nielsen.
Family and friends may gather at the funeral home to celebrate Dan, Wednesday, September 11, 2024, 11:30 am – 1:30 pm. Memorials to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital have been suggested.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to the staffs at Ascension All Saints, Ascension All Saints Cancer Center and the Neurosurgery Center at Columbia St. Mary’s for their loving and compassionate care.
