Mt. Pleasant - Daniel J. Mousseau, 87, passed away Tuesday, May 31, at Hospice House, in Pleasant Prairie, WI. Dan was born in Racine, WI on June 16, 1928, son of the late Omer A. and Mary A. (nee: McCarthy) Mousseau. On August 19, 1950 he was united in marriage to Elaine M. Duquette in Plymouth, WI. They were active members of St. Edward’s Parish for many years. Elaine passed away on January 30, 2002.

On June 18, 2004, Dan married Evelyn (Evie) Davison (nee: Kostka). They shared many happy years together enjoying traveling and spending winters at The Villages in Florida. They also enjoyed playing golf, cribbage, bridge, and numerous other card games. Dan and Evie are members of St. Paul the Apostle Church in Racine.

Dan graduated in 1946 from Washington Park High School. In 1950, he graduated from the Industrial Training Institute of Design in Chicago, IL. Dan was active in sports and coached many youth athletic teams. In the past, he volunteered at the Siena Center through their literacy program teaching English to Hispanic students. He also loved to watch professional golf and the Green Bay Packers.

Dan was President of the Wisconsin Chapter of American Value Engineers and retired as Manager of Value Engineering at Case I.H. in 1988. He served in the U.S. Army from 1946 – 1948 and was a member of the American Legion.

Survivors include his wife Evelyn; his children Denise (Larry) Ricchio of Grand Rapids, MI, Daniel C. Mousseau of Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Jeffrey (Cathy) Mousseau of Wheaton, IL and Patrick (Colleen) Mousseau of Middleton, WI; his grandchildren, Jessica, Danielle, Anthony, Vincent, Jack, Allie, Shannon, and Michael; stepchildren, Diane (Jim) Seal of Cave Creek, AZ, Greg (Marie) Davison of O’Fallon, IL, Robert Davison of Union Grove, WI and several step grandchildren and great grandchildren. In addition to his first wife, he was preceded in death by brother William O. Mousseau, sister-in-law Janis Mousseau, daughter-in-law Sue Ellen Mousseau, and step daughter Kathy Wernicke.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, 6400 Spring Street, Racine, WI, on Monday June 6, 2016, 11:00 a.m., with Reverend Terry Huebner officiating. Interment with Full Military Honors will be held at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at St. Paul the Apostle Church on Monday from 9:30 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers, Memorials to St. Paul the Apostle Church or St. Catherine’s High School have been suggested.

The family would like to extend a sincere thank you to Dr. Ryan Engel and the staff at Hospice Alliance for their unending care and dedication to Dan during his illness.
