David John Rosenow entered into eternal life on Sunday, December 1, 2024, at Ascension Hospital in Racine, WI. David was born on August 18, 1948, in Appleton, WI to Ervin and Mary Lee (Biese) Rosenow. He spent his early years in Kaukauna and Appleton, WI, and graduated from Xavier High School in Appleton. He received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he met his much loved future wife and best friend, Jo Ann Brown. They married on September 12, 1970, and moved to the Milwaukee area where David worked for the Heil Company and in 1972 their son, Steven, was born. Subsequent moves due to job changes took them to Wichita, KS, where their daughter, Kathryn, was born in 1975, Racine, WI, Byron, IL, Grand Island, NE, Clear Lake, IA, and then back to Racine in 1996 where David was employed by Case New Holland.

David grew up loving to fly fish with his father and brother, Jeff, on the South Branch of the Oconto River in northern Wisconsin. He loved all forms of nature and enjoyed gardening and feeding the birds. He was a collector of model trains, model tractors and die-cast vehicles. He and Jo Ann enjoyed traveling together on several river cruises, visiting their children in Iowa and Nebraska and especially going to Door County, their favorite destination. He was a true Christian who read the Bible faithfully and lived a life guided by its principles.

David is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Jo Ann, and his children, Steven Rosenow of Lincoln, NE, and Kathryn (David) Fehring of Des Moines, IA, and his grandchildren, Britany Rosenow and Levi Fehring. He is further survived by his sisters, Debra (Tom) Subert of Winneconne, WI and Faye (Rick) Regenfuss of Waynesville, NC, as well as his in-laws, Art (Roz) Brown, Nancy (Neil) Brown and Val Rosenow in addition to numerous aunts and uncles, nieces and nephews. David was preceded by his parents, Ervin and Mary Lee Rosenow, his wife’s parents, Arthur and Josephine Brown, and his brother, Jeff Rosenow.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, December 14, 2024, 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home with Rev. Ken Mich officiating. Relatives and friends may meet with the family on Saturday from 1:30 p.m. until time of service at 3:00 p.m. Private interment will be held. In lieu of flowers donations to Racine Habitat for Humanity, The Veterans’ Outreach Center or your favorite charity would be appreciated.

A special thank you to Dr. Michael Mullane for his loving and compassionate care during David’s illness.
