David Michael Vargas

David Michael Vargas, age 72, passed away Saturday September 13, 2025 at Ascension All Saints Medical Center. David was born in Milwaukee on April 10, 1953, son of the late Jesus and Esther (nee: Mareak) Vargas.

On August 7, 1976, David was united in marriage to the love of his life, Janet S. Ruiz, at St. John Kanty Catholic Church in Milwaukee. David was employed with Northwestern Mutual Insurance Company for thirty-five years before retiring as a Senior Systems Analyst. He was a member of St. Louis Catholic Church. In his spare time, David enjoyed carpentry, working in the garden, cutting the grass, bowling and traveling. He will be remembered for his great love and devotion to his wife, Janet, and his love for his friends, neighbors and his faithful canine companion, Maggie.

David will be dearly missed by his wife of forty-nine years, Janet; siblings, Maria (Ed) Soledad-Vargas, Humberto (Krista) Vargas, Jaime Vargas and Laura (James) Koelsch; sister-in-law, Kathleen Gumbert; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. Louis Catholic Church, 13207 County Rd G, Caledonia, WI 53103, on Tuesday September 23, 2025, 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow at St. Louis Cemetery. Relatives and friends may meet with the family at church from 10:00 a.m. until time of Mass at 11:00 a.m. Memorials to Humane World for Animals have been suggested.
