Debra Howard

Debra Kaye Howard, age 59, passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, September 23, 2020, at her residence. She was born October 22, 1960, in Eau Claire, WI, to Victor and Carol (Behlke) Howard.

Deb was active in Drum Corp, marching and traveling with New Day in 1974 and the Racine Scouts (Chrome Domes) from 1975-1980.

She graduated from Washington Park High School, “Class of 1978,” and worked for many years at Wilson Leather in Racine and Waukegan, IL. Deb also worked for the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.

Deb married Michael Peterson on January 25, 1980, in Racine. They later divorced and on June 21, 1986, she married Charles Allison with whom she had two wonderful daughters.

Deb enjoyed reading, crocheting, and spending time with her grandchildren who affectionately called her “Oma.” Deb was a proud member of Laurel Court #6 of the Order of Amaranth. She will be remembered for her contagious laughter, smile, sarcastic humor, and love of cats. Deb will be sadly missed by her heartbroken family and friends.

Surviving are her daughters Amelia (Tim) Scheidell, Larissa (Andy) Hermans, grandchildren April, Eve, and Isaac Scheidell, and Evangeline Hermans, ex-husband Charles Allison, of Racine, and brother Scott (Karen) Howard of Portland, OR. She was preceded in death by her parents, Victor and Carol Howard, brother Tommy Howard, grandparents, aunts, and uncles.

ACelebration of Life is scheduled for Deb’s 60th birthday, October 22, 2020, at the Racine Masonic Center, 1012 Main St in Racine. Visitation is at 10:00 AM, with a service officiated by Matt Groll at 11:00 AM. Cremation has taken place.

All are invited to attend this celebration of Deb’s life.
