Surrounded by her loving family, Diane Hagman Nicotera, age 75 passed away peacefully at her home in South Carolina on May 19, 2026. Diane was born in Racine, Wisconsin, on January 7, 1951, to the late Lawrence and Rose (Mazzie) Hagman.

She graduated from St. Catherine’s High School, Class of 1969, and later attended UW–Platteville and UW–Parkside. Diane worked for the Racine Police Department and later at Kohl’s Department Store.

On July 12, 1975, Diane married the love of her life, Ralph P. Nicotera III, at St. Edward Catholic Church in Racine. Together they built a loving home and family. Diane devoted herself to raising her two children and took great pride in caring for her home, both inside and out. She enjoyed bowling and golfing in leagues throughout the Racine area. In 2001, Diane and Ralph relocated to Matthews, North Carolina, where she continued to enjoy bowling and golf while lovingly decorating their home and tending to her beautiful flowers and landscaping. In 2009, they moved to Sun City Carolina Lakes in Indian Land, South Carolina. There they made many wonderful friends. She especially enjoyed participating in the women’s and couples’ bocce leagues within the community.

Diane will be deeply missed by her devoted husband of 50 years, Ralph; her daughter, Amy Lynn (Andy) Lueders of Kansas City, Missouri, and their children, Andrew and Anderson; and her son, Ralph Lawrence Nicotera (Amber) of Fort Mill, South Carolina, and their children, Ralph and Sam. She is further survived by her brothers, David (Barbara) Hagman and Lawrence (Jayne) Hagman; sisters-in-law Janet (John) Tyllo and Cindy (John) Pisanello; along with many nieces, nephews, relatives, and dear friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Rose Hagman; her in-laws, Ralph and Margaret Nicotera; and her beloved grandmother, Antoinette Mazzie.

Diane’s kindness, warmth, and dedication to her family and friends will be remembered always by those who knew and loved her.

Private Services will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorials to one’s favorite charity has been suggested by the family.
