Dolores A. Maki, 92, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family on May 22, 2026.
She was born in Negaunee, Michigan on January 10, 1934, to James and Lena Adamini. The youngest of seven children, she graduated from Saint Paul Catholic High School in 1951. Dolores was united in marriage to Ronald J. Maki on August 1, 1953.
The family moved to Racine, Wisconsin in 1969. Dolores was employed by TEK Products and then Medical Products until her retirement in 1986. Dolores and Ronald had four children. She will be greatly missed by her daughters, Cindi Johnson and Laura Maki, and her sons, David (Sue) Maki, Gregg (Terrie) Maki, all living in Racine. Along with her children, Dolores had seven grandchildren: Pat (Katie) Johnson, Jason (Destiny) Johnson, Andrew (Macy) Johnson, Stephanie (Scott) Hoffman, Kirsten (Kevin) O’Sullivan, Emily Maki, Jason (Haley) Meekma. Eight great granddaughters: Anna, Lauren, Brailey, Adalyn, Piper, Blair, Oie and Mackenzie, along with five great grandsons: Parker, Rafe, Caleb, Jacob and Jack.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ronald on November 10, 1999. Her granddaughter, Emily Maki on August 10, 2011, and her great grandson Jack O’Sullivan on June 25, 2025. Also her parents, James and Lena, her brothers Robert, Frank and Ray, and sisters Mary, Irene and Gloria.
Dolores was a member of both St. Mary’s by the Lake and St. Edward’s Catholic Parishes. She enjoyed going to Bible study and connecting with fellow members. She met a great group of parishioners and they became lifelong friends. She cared deeply about those less fortunate. She donated extensively to help those in need. She was proud to have helped fund the college education of two young ladies that changed their lives forever. She loved to knit and crochet, and her dish rags and tissue boxes adorn the homes of many family and friends. She was a kind soul with a caring heart.

A Mass of Christian Burial is tentatively scheduled for Monday, June 1, 2026 at St, Edwards Parish, 1425 Grove Ave, Racine, WI 53405.
Entombment at Holy Cross Cemetery, 5600 Holy Cross Road, Racine, WI 53402 will follow the funeral service.
