Donald James Bucholz

Donald James Bucholz, age 79, passed away Sunday, August 23, 2026, at Aurora Medical Center, Mt. Pleasant. He was born in Racine, August 16, 1947, son of the late, Norman and Konoma (Nee: Hancock) Bucholz.

Don was a graduate of Wm. Horlick High School, “Class of 1965”. He furthered his education at Gateway Technical College. On July 15, 1972, Don was united in marriage to Suzanne Ward, who preceded him in death on March 25, 2021. In his earlier years, he was employed by Jacobsen Mfg. and lastly employed by Racine Metal Fab, as an electrician. Don was an avid Brewer and Packer fan. He enjoyed camping, traveling, and cruising with his wife. It was time spent with his family that he cherished most.

He was loved dearly and will be sadly missed by his daughters, Heidi Nicolazzo, Christina (Joseph) Waldow; grandchildren, Cameron, Caleb, Cassidy, Madison, Brooklynn and Joseph Jr.; great grandson, Carson; siblings, Lois Bucholz, Carol Keown, Kathy (Mark) Johnson, Karen Bazan; in-laws, Ron Ward, Howie (Rhonda) Ward, Beverly Black, Mel (Cheryl) Ward; other relatives and many dear friends. In addition to his parent’s and wife, he was preceded in death by his infant son, Donald Jr., two brothers, Robert and Dale, twin grandsons, Zachariah and Talan Waldow and his great nephew, Scott Bucholz Jr.

A Memorial Service celebrating Don’s life will be held at the funeral home, 11:00 am, Friday, September 4, 2026. Relatives and friends are welcome to meet for Visitation, Friday at 10:00 am until time of service at the funeral home.
