Donna L Chambasian

With her family by her side, Donna L. Chambasian, age 87, passed away peacefully at her residence. Donna was born in Racine on July 23, 1937, daughter of the late Peter and Helen (nee: Polimadei) Matranga.

In her younger years, Donna worked with her family at their store, Matranga’s Grocery. She graduated from Wm. Horlick High School “Class of 1956”. On April 12, 1958, Donna was united in marriage to Peter Chambasian. They raised four children, Kim, Kathy, Peter and Tom, and shared sixty-six beautiful years together. Donna was a member of St. Hagop Armenian Church. Donna will be remembered for her good cooking, especially her meatballs, her kind demeanor and her great love and devotion to her family.

Donna will be dearly missed by her husband, Peter; children, Kim Popp, Kathy Chambasian, Peter (Ryen) Chambasian and Tom (Donna) Chambasian; grandchildren, Joseph, Patrick, Sean, Cody, Drew, Rafi and Arianna; sister, Rosemary (Joseph) Povkovich; brother-in-law, Joseph Romano; nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends. In addition to her parents, Donna was also preceded in death by her sister, Anna Romano and her son-in-law, Vince Popp.

Funeral services will be held at St. Hagop Armenian Apostolic Church, 4100 N. Newman Rd, on Thursday March 13, 2025, 10:30 a.m. Entombment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery, Hwy 32. In lieu of flowers, memorials to St. Hagop Armenian Apostolic Church have been suggested.
