Life Story / Obituary
Doris Mae (Nee: Henke) LaBrasca, age 86, passed away Wednesday, August 14, 2024, at her residence with family by her side. She was born in Racine, WI on May 1, 1938, the daughter of the late Cliff and Nettie (Nee: Schifano) Henke.
Doris graduated from Washington Park High School, “Class of 1956”. On July 12, 1958, she married Roger J. LaBrasca and had 4 children. Doris served as a Program Coordinator for Controlling Community Violence for over 30 years. She had a passion for music and enjoyed performing as a singer with various groups. Her pastimes included walks on the beach, swimming, and traveling throughout the states and abroad, especially enjoying Italy, Spain, Hungary, and India. She studied spirituality and was always there to lend her counsel when needed, providing unconditional love, support, and understanding. She loved helping people better themselves. Above all, she treasured time spent with family and a good laugh. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed.
Surviving are her children, Pamela Locke, Ronn (Connie) LaBrasca, Elizabeth (James) Leahey, Dina Drewek, Mark Drewek; grandchildren, Jason, Ashley, Samantha, Anthony, Isabella, Jack, Joey, Nathan; 6 great-grandchildren; sister, Cheryl King (Donald Londre); sister-in-law, Jackie Henke; nieces, nephews, other relatives and dear friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Gerald (Patricia) Henke and Ralph Henke, and former husband, Roger.
A memorial service for Doris will be held at the funeral home, on Friday, August 23, 2024. Relatives and friends may gather at 10:00 AM for the visitation, with the service starting at 11:30 AM. Memorials to St. Croix Hospice have been suggested.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the incredible staffs of Parkview Gardens and St. Croix Hospice for their loving and compassionate care. In her own way, Doris loved you all.
